We sat down with D.C. publication Education Week to discuss our efforts in voter education and registration, which can be found below.


In 2016, only 50% of young people voted. ATC is working to make this number higher.

Austin Teen Coalition is a teen-led think tank tackling the issue of youth voter turnout out of the greater Austin area. In our collective, we aim to stimulate and spark interest for the political process through articles, interviews, and other mediums of information.

Mainur Khan

Co-Founder & COO

Mainur Khan is a senior at Round Rock High School. As a first-generation American-born citizen, Mainur has always taken an acute interest in politics at the local, state, and national level. In college, Mainur hopes to major in Biochemistry, and minor in political science. Outside of ATC, Mainur is also the co-founder of Teach ATX Inc. (teachatx.us), a non-profit dedicated towards grassroots service initiatives, and Architect of the PulmonaryScan app. In his school, Mainur is captain of the soccer team, president of both RRHS Model United Nations and the Future Business Leaders of America club, and Vice President of the school's Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy.

Zach Moser

Co-Founder & COS

Zach Moser is a senior at Round Rock High School, in Round Rock, Texas. Zach has always had a deep-seated passion for politics, and plans on double majoring in Political Science and Business at either the University of Houston or UT Dallas. An integral member of the RRHS student body, Zach is actively involved in the school's theatre, swim and water polo team, Model UN, and NHS. In addition to this, he is the co-president of RRHS Hiking Club.

Juan Rivas

Director of Communications

Juan Rivas is a senior attending Round Rock High School in Round Rock, Texas. Through his experience as a first-generation immigrant born in El Salvador, Juan has grown an interest in international policies, as he often travels to his country of birth and gains perspective. Juan is a hard worker who hopes to create an emphasis on the importance of young people's vote - as a vote impacts more people than just those who live in the United States.

Jordyn Tunnell

Director of Content

Jordyn Tunnell is a senior at Round Rock High School. She loves all things politics and finds it incredibly fascinating. Jordyn plans on majoring in political science in college, with a minor in history or international relations. She is very involved in her school and community, as a member of the Dragonettes, RRHS's dance team, and National Honor Society. She will serve as president of the Round Rock Sweethearts, a girl's service organization, president of Girl Up, a United Nations Foundation club, and president of the RRHS chapter of Young Democrats in the 2020-2021 school year.
